The fire-rated window is made of steel sash and glazed with a fire-rated glass, which help resist the fire, the smoke and the heat radiation in the fire.

The picture window is lower in price as well as fire-resistant. The casement is more user-friendly for it further provides good ventilation. Besides, the window would be closed automatically when the temperature control or the fire alert triggers the door closer in the fire, which gets rid of the limitation of manual operation.
As the core of the fire-rated window, the fire-retardant glass shall be selected carefully. The glass affects a windows fire resistance. The fire-rated glass is divided into the single-layer glass and the composite glass. The former is lighter, lower in price and unlikely to deteriorate or to bubble but its weakness is lack of thermal-insulation. It is fit for exposed wall. The latter is also called infused fire-retardant glass which means the two-layer glass is infused with fire-retardant liquid. It features thermal-insulation and stability in the fire but it is apt to bubble, discolor when exposed to the sunlight.
Floor windows can be divided as per requirements. According to fire-rating standard, it can resist fire up to 90min.
