Multimedia Research Lab Sdn. Bhd (Mlabs) was born following the success of a software development project that began in 1992 in Universiti Sains Malaysia. On 28 July 1997 MLabs was incorporated as a Private Limited Company in Malaysia to carry out ongoing research, development and marketing activities for this software. The company was listed in Bursa Malaysia under MESDAQ counter in August 2005.

Multimedia Conferencing System (MCS) is substantially less expensive and more flexible than any other similar system currently available in the market. Since its commercial debut in 1996, MCS has reached milestones such as winning PIKOMS's IT Product of the Year 1999 and receiving "patent pending" status from the US Patent and Trademark Office in 2000. MLabs was also a winner of a Merit Award presented at the APMITTA Awards of 2000 in March 2001. At this present moment MCS is already being used in Malaysia, Singapore, India, Iran,
Korea, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Australia, USA, Japan, UAE, Oman, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, France, UK, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, Qatar and Libya.

Today MLabs is a multi-million dollar entity that is set to become a global technology player with its ground breaking multimedia conferencing system, which allows multipoint boardroom and desktop conferencing around the globe with zero call costs.
