Wire Belt has a long history of producing steel mesh belting under the Flat-Flex® trade name. The company history started in ***2 when Jesse Wade Greer invented a chocolate enrobing process. Wire Belt Company Limited was founded in ***2 and the original location of the company was in Bromley, Kent, UK. The company moved to a 4, **0sq/ft factory in Tribune Drive, Trinity Trading Estate, Sittingbourne in January ***0. The company expanded and opened a department for conveyor production. By early ***9 all departments moved into a purpose built freehold factory of *4, **0 sq/ft located on Castle Road, Eurolink Industrial Centre, Sittingbourne, Kent. In ***2 another *4, **0 sq/ft was built onto the existing factory to accommodate increased production and stock holding facilities and to house the ConveyorTec division. The Wire Belt Company Limited has also expanded outside the UK by the acquisition of Industrielle Drahtverarbeitung Osterloh GmbH in October ***8. The Osterloh Company has a varied product range of Metal Conveyor Belting and has a company history dating back over **8 years. The company is the owner of and based at a freehold trading estate in Lbeck, North Germany. The Wire Belt group is known worldwide as the leading manufacturer of Flat-Flex® style belting including Flat-Flex® XT and Flat-Flex® EL which gives *5% longer life than standard belting. Other products include C-CureEdge„ Flat-Flex and EZSplice„ the easy way to join a belt. Special belts such as compound belts with flights and troughs as well as crowned and reversed crowned belts are available. The company also produces a full range of Eye-Flex® wire link belts for tougher application requirements as well as a wide range of other conveyor belts. The ConveyorTec„ Division of Wire Belt produces a diverse range of Flex-Turn® units, spreaders and convergers, product placement and shuttles straight conveyors. All conveyors are made to the customer€™s requirements.
