TOPRO 6AP1 series of thermal protectors were developed after Klixon 6AP to operate in wide temperature and current ranges, while providing consistent performance characteristics and excellent reliability at MUCH LOWER prices. The 6AP1 operates as a sensitive power cut-out which is widely used in engines, motors, electrical machinery, fluorescent lamp ballasts, transformers, automobile motors, integrated circuits, automobile rain wipers, door-locks and various other applications.

Function:
This thermostat will cut off the circuit automatically in case of overload or overheat.
TOPRO 6AP1 thermal protectors use the same snap-action principle of KLIXON protectors. The bimetal disc senses both heat and current from the equipment which 6AP1 is installed on. When the temperature of the disc reaches a predetermined calibration point, the disc snaps open the contacts, thus breaking the current path. When the equipment returns to a normal operating range, the 6AP1 protector resets (closes circuit) automatically.
6AP1+PTC manual reset thermal protector includes a heating device on the basis of 6AP1 thermal protector for the situations where non-automatic reset motor protection is required and makes the protection more reliable and safer.
Notes:
Wire leads of various specs and lengths are at choice according to customer requirements.
A Mylar tube is recommended to prevent short circuit between the thermal protector metal case and the motor coil or other metal objects.
