Mode of action

1. Thiacloprid is a highly active novel insect control agent with broad spectrum efficacy against sucking and biting insect.

2. Thiacloprid acts as acute contact and stomach poison, with systemic action.  It disrupts the nervous system by acting as an inhibitor at nicotinic acetylcholine receptors.

Application

Neonicotinoid Insecticides *8%TC Thiacloprid:   

1. Thiacloprid, a new chloronicotinyl insecticide, is targeted to control sucking and biting insects in cotton, rice, vegetables, pome fruit, sugar beet, potatoes and ornamentals.

2. Pests controlled include aphids, whiteflies, beetles (e.g. Leptinotarsa decemlineata, Anthonomus pomorum, Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus) and Lepidoptera such as leaf miners and Cydia pomonella.

3. As there is no cross-resistance to conventional insecticides such as pyrethroids, organophosphates and carbamates and consequently, it will into resistance management strategies.
