ACSR is a concentric-lay-stranded conductor consisting of a single core wire or a stranded steel central core with one or more layers of ***0 H*9 stranded aluminum wires. Steel core wires are protected from corrosion by galvanizing, aluminum-clad alloy or zinc**0% aluminum mischmetal alloy coating. Standard, high, extra and ultra high strength steel are also available. All ACSR conductors are also available in non-specular finish.

ACSR conductors provide dependable performance for many years under adverse weather conditions. The combination of the aluminum and steel in the conductor design offer both efficient conductivity and high tensile strength making ACSR cable the most economical solution for overhead power transmission and sidtribution projects. ACSR consist of a galvanized steel core of 1 wire, 7 wires or *9 wires surrounded by concentric layers of aluminium wire. When a conductor with a high current carrying capacity and comparatively low strength is required, special construction are available with a high aluminium content.
