It is slightly soluble in water, acid and alkali solution, insoluble in most organic solvents, also insoluble in hydrofluoric acid and liquefied hydrogen fluoride. The property of anhydrous aluminum fluoride is very stable, it doesn’t react with liquid ammonia or sulfuric acid by heating to fuming and doesn’t changeable when co-melted with potassium hydroxide. It is not reduced by hydrogen and doesn’t decompose through heating but it may be sublimation.
