A ball joint is used for allowing three rotations, and since it is the pivot between the wheels and the suspension of an automobile, so it plays a critical role in the safe operation of an automobile's steering and suspension. Ball joints are the key pivot point on a suspension system and must be kept in good working condition to maintain proper suspension function.
