Beam type lime kiln is one of our main products, it is the new
generation of Terruzzi Fercalx Vertical Lime Kiln. Based on
summarizing the domestic kilns operation, we have further improved
and optimized the combustion technology by combining of three
patens of ridge type burner beam, burner-beams reversed layout lime
calcining process, as well as the flameless combustion technology.
This type kiln structure is simple and less special-shaped
refractory brick. Relatively to other kilns, it is simple masonry,
convenient construction; low heat consumption, high activity, low
rate of under-burnt and over-burnt, strong fuel adaptability,
simple equipment, low operation failure rate, high operating
flexibility, small occupation area, less investment, and high
performance cost ratio.
Technical Characteristics
  The facility is equipped with advanced PLC control
system with a monitoring system, so that the beam type
vertical kiln production is more stable, and easier to
operate.
  Beam type vertical kiln is in negative pressure
operation, it's conducive to safe production and environmental
compliance.
  It adopts the ridge type burner beam (our patent
technology), so that the raw material runs more
smoothly.
  Product discharging valve is installed in the elbow
between the upper suction beam and plenum chamber (air gathering
box), which can prevent pipes clogging.
  the structure of the burners around the kiln is
improved, the number also increases, which will lead more evenly
heat division and more completely burning, so that be effectively
to control the under burnt and over burnt.
  The production capacity is flexible and adjustable;

  Applied to many kinds of fuels: natural gas, coal,
calcium carbide furnace gas, coke oven gas, mixed gas, blast

Structural Features of Beam Type lime Vertical
Kiln
1, The kiln body is quasi-rectangular. From the top to the bottom,
there are the material storage zone, preheating zone, calcining
zone, homogeneous calcining zone, and cooling
zone.
2,Adopting two layers burner beams is the technology key and core
section of the kiln body, the burner beam is cooled by the HTF
jacket. According to the production capacity, there are different
amount burner beams of two layers layout in the calcining zone, and
several adjustable burner mouths are arranged in each beam. The
upper and lower burner beams are dislocation arrangement, in order
to distribute the heat to be maximal even. In all the calcining
zone, there are reasonably distributed burners, and each burner
responses only small burning space, so the heat conduction way is
mainly radiation, and convection heat conduction as auxiliary,
which ensures the heat penetration ability to the raw material is
strong, the limestone can be burned through, so the rate of
over-burnt and under-burnt, high activity is
ensured.
3,In order to protect the high temperature burner beams, the
cooling medium (usually heat -conduction oil) passes through inside
of the beam sandwich, the cooling medium is pump driven in
continuous circulation, to ensure safe and reliable operation of
the burner beams.

Â
According to the experience of former beam type lime kilns
factories, the former TÂ type burner beam life time is very
short because of its "T" eaves was eroded by the flame and coke
powder. We developed heat-insulation burner beams which is compound
of refractory and steel structure, and improves the utilization
lifetime. Besides, we developed girder burner beam by multiple
test.

Its top likes a girder structure, which eliminates the
material accumulation of the traditional flat top, and avoids the
materials on the beam calcined in a longer time which would
lead nodulation. The girder burner beam can make the material move
down smoothly, and can play the role of turning material more
effectively, so the lime calcination will be more
uniform.  The flame direction of the girder burner beam
is down. Even a small amount of the coke powder in the air
fuel reflects to the beam against the raw material, because the
amount is small, and the friction velocity decreases a lot,
so it's not enough to cause damage to the girder body, which also
greatly prolongs the service life of the burner
beam.

Reverse Layout Calcining Process

In the traditional lime kiln calcining process, the upper burners'
power is higher than the lower burners' power, and we could know
through the following experimental data analysis:

Limestone calcination time has a direct relationship with the
calcination temperature, the higher the calcination temperature of
the same limestone particle size is, and the shorter the
calcination time need. And the lime's thermal conductivity is less
than limestone; the deeper the heat goes through the limestone
internal, the harder CO2 evolutes, so limestone internal needs more
high temperature and heat.

But the thermal distribution of the traditional lime kiln is that
the upper power is more than the lower power, when the limestone
goes through the upper calcination layer, the decomposition is on
the surface, only moving into the lower layer, the decomposition is
on the core, and more thermal energy is needed. But the lower
calcination power is low, which is inconsistent with the lime
calcined demand.

Thereverse layout calcining process designed by SHD Thermal is
according to the heat demand of limestone calcination to reallocate
the burners power of both upper layer and lower layer, which is
meant to the upper burner beams are more than the lower burner
beams.

Combined with our girder type beam technology, the lower girder
beam can be more close to the operation layer of kiln inside wall,
which can reduce the material thickness between edge beams and kiln
wall operation layer, which also reasonably allocate the calcining
zone in the condition of canceling the surrounding burners
configuration, so that the thermal energy distribution is more
even, meets the demand to reduce the rate of over-burnt and
under-burnt. Â
