The Black Currant(Ribes Nigrum) is a deciduous shrub that originated in the northern hemisphere but grows rather optimally in the northeast part in china. The berrie dark purple(nearly black) in color and are quite aromatic. They grow to about 1cm in diameter and are ready to be harvested around August.
