HBN is one of the three kinds of BN crystal structures, it belongs to hexagonal system with graphite-like structure, so often called “White Graphite”. HBN is a kind of white powder of loose, lubricious and easy moisture absorption with theoretical density 2.*7g/cm3 , Moh’s hardness 2, low mechanical strength , but high than graphite. It has fine insulation, thermal conductivity, chemical corrosion resisting property, anti-oxygenation property and lubricating property. It has strong neutron absorbent power. Because of its stable chemical property, it is not reactive to almost every melting metals. It can bear high temperature of ***0&#***1;, thus has the fine property of mechanical process. (1). Because of the chemical stability of HBN, we can use it to manufacture crucible, boats and liquid metal carrier pipes for smelting evaporation metals, rocket injections, large power device basements, and pipes, pump parts, models of cast steel for smelting metals, etc. (2). Because of the heat-durability and stain resistance of HBN, we can use it to manufacture high temperature structural pants, liner of rocket chamber, thermal shield for spaceships and corrosion resisting parts for magneto hydrodynamic generators. (3). Because of its insulation, HBN can be used widely in isolators for high pressure & high frequency electricity, insulators of various heaters, drive pipes for heating pipes, radiating units/parts of high-temperature, -frequency, and -pressure, and materials for high-frequency applied furnaces. (4). Because of its lubricating properties, HBN can be dispersed in heat-resistant lubricating oil & grease, water or solvents; It can be formed into dry film through solvent volatizing after being sprayed on the friction surface ; It can be used as compound materials for high temperature resistant when filling into the surface-layers of resins, ceramics & metals.
