Brake discs and brake drums are the second component of friction pair responsible for efficiency of brakes that is so important for comfort and safety in driving.
They are made of grey cast iron with a chemical composition compliant with the specification of products intended for the European market. Method of producing discs guarantees the homogeneity of material structure, protecting them from early wear and uncontrolled cracking and enduring high resistance to thermal loads and deformation caused by it. Thus, a minimization of temperature fading phenomenon is achieved. Additional quality guarantee is the examination of chemical composition of each batch of cast iron before the casting starts. In further stages of production, the KAMOKA brake undergoes a finishing processing in the form of simultaneous grinding of both friction surfaces. The friction surface of drums is also processed by grinding. The effect of such processing is an even wear of both friction surfaces of ventilated and full discs, without the effect of uneven placement of rotating masses, which is also a cause of vibrations felt in the steering system. High quality of friction surfaces provides appropriate contact of brake pads lining and brake shoes and obtaining appropriate values of braking forces. Thermal insulation made on the discs protect the wheel hub, and thus the bearings and bearing units from heating.
