Overview The CX-M series cloud campus switches are access and
aggregation products designed for next generation cloud campus
network. They run with the enterprise-ready SONiC version
(AsterNOS). Based on Marvell Prestera switch ASIC, CX-M series
switches provide large table entry size, wire-speed forwarding and
low power consumption, and support comprehensive L2 and L3
functions, have rich security features. All 1GE/2.5GE hardware has
a PoE version to provide **2.3at/**2.3bt standard PoE
functions.

The *4 ports gigabit POE+ switch,
CX**4Y**4GT-M-SWP2, is equipped with *4x *0/**0/***0BASE-T
ports, 4x *5Gb 4x*5Gb/*0Gb SFP*8 SFP+ ports. It supports a
maximum of **-port *0W PoE+ (**2.3at), of which 8 ports can be
configured as *0W PoE++ (**2.3bt) for powering attached IP
phones, wireless access points, or other standards-compliant
PoE and PoE+ end network devices. Benefited from commercial
SONiC NOS-AsterNOS, it supports rich layer 2 and layer 3
functions, including routing functions like OSPF and BGP,
virtualization functions such as VXLAN and BGP-EVPN, and other
features like MLAG and IPV6 functions. This PoE+ access switch
offers a compact and cost-effective solution for campus
networks, SMBs, and enterprise networks.

Operating System Highlights
AsterNOS is an enterprise network operating system developed with
SONiC and SAI as the kernel.
â—¼ Integrated rich L2/L3 network features, complete support for
network virtualization, QoS policies and other services.
â—¼ Advanced functional containerized & eventdriven system
architecture to accelerate network service
development/customization.
â—¼ Provides an open Rest API interface that can be centrally
managed and invoked by thirdparty applications such as cloud
management platform.
â—¼ Provides KLISH command line for traditional network
engineers.
Cloud-based Campus Network Asterfusion is the first vendor that run
SONiC in campus switches. Spine-leaf architecture is introduced
into campus network, so that we just need a few suitable SKUs to
build a campus network from tens to hundreds of thousands access
ports.
â—¼ All layer*3 network can avoid some problems in traditional
campus network like broadcast storm and ethernet loop.
â—¼ Leaf switches have the same configuration, so one profile can
be used to configure all the leaf switches with ZTP.
â—¼ With distributed gateway deployed, wireless terminals can
achieve lossless roaming by connecting a new gateway before
disconnecting the former one.
â—¼ Virtualization features like VXLAN, BGP EVPN are also migrated
from data center, which can meet the growing requirements of campus
network
Optional DPU for Multipurpose CX**2S**6GT-M-SWP has an option to
add at most 2x*-core DPU. Customer can choose to pre-install
OpenWRT to play the role as a router or a firewall, or OpenWiFi
controller to manage WLAN. It can also be left blank as pure Linux,
customer can run applications they need, such as management tools
or radius server
Cloud Cluster as a Single Device
âš« Scale-out spine-leaf architecture to build a cloud cluster
instead of traditional stacking features.
âš« Compared with traditional stacking, there is no limitation of
max stackable device number or proprietary stacking cable.
âš« As an example, when CX**6P**8S as spine and CX**4Y**8GT as
leaf, a POD can be built to provide *8x*8=***4 access ports.
âš« After simple peer configurations, the cloud cluster can be
built and considered as a virtual device, other configurations can
be synchronized automatically
