All cable trays are manufactured and tested in accordance with NEMA VE-1 Cable Traystandards.

Metallic trays are UL Classified for use as an equipment ground conductor. Tray labels have the UL Classification for USE as an EGC with the cross-sectional printed on the tray label.

The following NEMA cable tray types are available, Ladder Cable Tray, Ventilated Trough Cable Tray, Solid Bottom Cable Tray, Single Rail Cable Tray, Wire Mesh Cable Tray, Wire Basket Cable Tray, Channel Cable Tray and Non Metallic Cable Tray

Cable Trays are available in the following material types: Aluminum, Pre-galvanized Steel (Mill-galvanized), Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel (HDGAF), Stainless Steel ( 304 or 316), Fiberglass.

Ladder cable tray consist of two side rails connected by rungs or a center rail with rungs. Ladder style trays are generally used for power and control cables. Rungs can be spaced every 6″, 9″, 12″ and 18″ on side rail style tray or 3″, 6″, 9″, 12″ and 18″ for Center Rail and Wall Mount Single rail trays. Ladder style trays also allow plenty of ventilation to keep cables cool and allow for free air rating of cables.

Ventilated trough cable trays are also generally used for power and control cables. Construction can be a corrugated bottom with ventilation holes or rungs spaced so that the cable bearing surfaces are no more than 4″ apart. Wire Basket is another form of ventilated trough style tray. Wire basket trays are available in 2″, 4″ and 6″ depths and widths from 2″ to 36″ wide. Wire mesh trays dont require actual fittings to make bends. The straight sections are field cut to make changes in direction.

Solid Bottom cable trays are generally used for instrumentation or data comm. cables. These trays can be two side rails with a non-ventilated solid bottom design that can be flat sheet or corrugation. Another form of solid bottom is brake formed pan where the entire piece is formed from one piece of flat sheet metal. Solid bottom trays are often covered to shield the cables from electromagnetic interference. EMI trays are offered for this application. EMI trays consist of a solid bottom trough tray with a solid flanged cover and a wrap-around splice connector that encloses the sides, bottom and cover joints.

Single Rail cable tray or Center Rail cable tray has a rectangular tube with rungs sticking out both sides and turning up 3″, 4″ or 6″ on the ends to form a tray. The rungs can come from the top or bottom of the rail. When the rungs come from the top of  the rail cables can be laid across the entire top of the tray. When the rungs come out of the bottom of the tray, half of the tray width is on each side of the rail. In this case the rail acts as a divider which can be handy for keeping one type of cable on one side and another type of cable on the other side. We also offer a dual width version of the center rail design that provides four separate areas to run cables in. Wall mount versions of single rail trays are also available that have a rail with rungs coming out of one side. These trays can be mounted to a wall. Spacers are provide for mounting the tray to a wall that will allow mounting on walls with rough or uneven surface. Wall mount trays are also offered in double tier design having one level above the other. Center Rail trays are center hung with 1/2″ diameter hanger rods from the splice connector between the trays allowing easy access for installing cables without pulling the cables through the system. The cables can be laid in the tray from the sides making cable installation and relocation a snap. This is especially useful where the drops may need to be relocated from time to time.

Cable Tray fittings are offered for all cable trays . Horizontal and vertical 30, 45, 60 and 90 degree bends plus tees, crosses, vertical support elbows, vertical tees and reducers with 12″ 24″ or 36″ radius. Enlarging and reducing tees and crosses are also available.

Accessories such as splice connectors, horizontal and vertical hinge connectors, end plates, separators bonding jumpers, ground clamps, drop outs, etc., are also available.

Cable Tray Covers are offered in many styles such as flat solid, louvered hat shape, peaked and corrugated.

A complete line of support material is offered such as expansion guides, hold down clamps, strut, wall brackets, trapeze hangers, center hangers, etc.

Channel cable tray is a single c-channel rail that is 4″ or 6″ wide and 1-3/4″ high. Channel is generally used for one or two cable drops to motors or other equipment from an over head tray. This is an economical way to feed cables to motors and other equipment without running a complete tray.
