The most popular consumption is in refractor material production and after being calcinied usage as flux to drive. Therefore , dolomite is mostly consumed in glass, soda, refractor , iron and steel industries.

What is dolomite?

Dolomite is mostly found in limestone that has rich magnesium content.It is found in altered base compounded magmatic schists with magnesium content or it is found in veins and gaps of limestones or in veined typed hydrothermal minerials, mostly around galenit and sphalerit as gang mineral.

Dolomite is a mineral that is formed by placement of Mg with Ca in a limestone (CaCO3). Its density varies between 2.*1 and 2.*7 Tonnes / cubicmeter and its hardness varies between 3.5 and 4 according to its Mg content. Dolomite has usage types as raw dolomite, calcinated dolomite and burnt dolomite. In world and in Turkey dolomite mineral has a wide range and it has no reserve problem.Around half of it annual production quantity of **0 million tonnes is done in the USA.

An important portion of its production in Turkey is consumed in iron-steel and glass industries.
