Why use a Favor Box?
Favors are given by the bride and groom to the guests as a way of remembering and sharing their special day. Whether the favor is edible like candy or almonds, a small token like a candle or polished stone, or even a larger favor such as a wine stopper or picture frame, favor boxes add a touch of color and emphasize the wedding theme at the reception.
Choosing a Favor Box
While popular, favor boxes do not have to be a square box. Favor boxes, bags, envelopes and containers are varied in style and should reflect both the couple and the wedding itself.
Standard Favor Box
The traditional square favor boxes are approximately two-inches on each side and have a separate top that either lifts off entirely or flips open. Many two-piece boxes tie the lid and container together with ribbon or twine in coordinating colors. They can range in color, size and shape.
Assorted Styles
Made of a heavy cardstock or cardboard, favor boxes can also be wedge shaped so that when set up they create a round cake-like display. They can have matte, satin, linen or textured finishes.
