There are two kinds of electric communication optical cables on the overhead transmission lines, OPGW optical fiber composite overhead ground wire and ADSS All Dielectric Self-supporting Aerial Cable. OPGW is usually adopted for newly built electric lines and ADSS is normally used for already existing electric lines.
The optical cable armor fittings are different from electric power fittings, and they are used for the connection and combination of OPGW or ADSS optical fiber lines, and functioning transmitting load and protection, and offering supports between the OPGW and ADSS optical fiber lines metal accessories.
OPGW and ADSS optical cable armor clamps mainly include preformed rods tension armor, preformed rods suspension armor, joint box, down lead clamp, clamp, damper, damping whip, armor rod, terminal box, fastening fitting and auxiliary fitting, normally supplied by the optical fiber manufacturers.
The function of this product is to fix the cable lead up or down from the electric pole or tower onto the pole or tower to prevent from waggling and avoid abrasion.

Down lead clamps are mainly used for ADSS and OPGW optical cable lead fixture and installations on to the pole and tower. For example, from the optical fiber connection pole (tower) to the junction protection box and the clamps will function as the fixture of the cables; and as the fixture for the optical cable lead from the pole tower to the underground trench, cable tray, direct embedding and connecting to service room; and to prevent abrasion of the optical fibers with the pole towers and other parts in windy weather so as to make sure the safety of the optical fiber. We can provide the following down lead clamps, they are tower type down lead clamps and pole type down lead clamps.
Application and materials :
Down lead clamps are used for optical cable down lead and fixture of cables wherever jumper connected, and every 1.**2.0 meters there should be one clamp installed.
