The benefits of "golden berries"
Golden berries, also known as "Pichuberries", are not actually
berries, are somewhat closer to what we know as tomatillos. They
come from Peru, where they are known as "aguaymanto" and look like
a yellow tomatillo and is now the new "super food".
I recently discovered its existence while I was shopping at Costco
and immediately caught my attention because of its similarity to
blueberries, since in Mexico you can only find them dehydrated. It
is considered super food because of its high content of
antioxidants and its anti-inflammatory properties, it is low in
calories and has a very nice bittersweet flavor, the type of the
apple.
