Yellow Maize, which is also known as corn, the difference between
yellow and white maize grains is due to the color of the nutritive
tissue which covers up the embryo in the seed, called the
endosperm. In spite of the taste and the radiant color, yellow
maize is wholesome and high in nutritious value
It is an excellent source of fiber and proteins whilst being low in
fat and salt. Maize contains lots of minerals which are important
for us and that too in a great quantity. These minerals include
Phosphorus, Magnesium, Manganese, Zinc, Copper, Iron and also small
amounts of Calcium and Potassium.
The stalks of Yellow maize may be used as fodder for animals such
as cows, sheep, goats, horses or any other type of livestock. They
may also be given to poultry, such as chicken and roosters as feed.
In order to make use of this stock as both food for livestock and
to extract grains from, it should be harvested when it is green.
Then, the vegetable part is used to extract the grains and the
remaining parts may be used as feed for livestock. This is a very
healthy feed for livestock because it is it so rich in
nutrients
