Fighting deforestation

Deforestation is a serious issue in Haiti. Over exploitation of trees to produce charcoal to cook over centuries has created a situation that caused even the soil to be damaged as the protective layer went away with the environmental action. The roots of the trees that keeps the soil tight in front of the elements wasnt there anymore. This is a serious situation as the Haitian culture developed on top of charcoal to prepare food many families are simply adapted to cook that way. On top of that many people living in extreme poverty finds charcoal production as a quick source of temporary income given the process requires very little inversion to be done.
