FIJIAN TANOA

These beautiful Tanoa Bowls are made of hand carved Vesi wood which is the same wood they've been using in Fiji for over a thousand years to make Tanoa Bowls. Each one of a kind bowl is unique!  They are hand carved in the Lau Group Islands of Fiji and have been stained black with natural plant tannins.Please note that because these bowls are hand carved in Fiji, variations and small imperfections may be present. 

Currently we carry natural wood bowls with black detail carved around the rim as well as bowls stained entirely black with similar carved rim detail. We also have the normal brown tanoa that are commonly used in every Fijian household. 

For larger images of both colors, please mouse over pictures and clickto view.  Unless specified you will receive whatever style/color bowl is currently available in the size you select.  If you choose, you may specify the color of the bowl you prefer (either natural or black) in the comment section available on the checkout page.  If the size you select says "natural only", that means we only have natural bowls in stock currently. 

Serving Measurements: the larger *8 inch, *5 inch(*5 cm.)bowls will hold about 2.5 quarts (2.3 liters) of kava.  The smaller *3 inch bowls (*4.4 cm.) will about 1.5 quarts (1.4 liters) of kava.
