Common name garbanzo bean, chickpea, Bengal gram, chana, kabuli chana.

India is largest producer of Chickpeas. It is used in many dishes world wide and in Indian cuisine.Chana is rich in protein, It is used as an edible seed as well as making flour.

Chana is broadly divided into two categories Kabuli and Desi*- according to the colour, seed size and taste. Desi chickpeas or Indian local chickpeas are smaller and has darker skin color. Whereas kabuli chana is bigger in size and has lighter skin color.
