Both GPS and Radar Detector can be used separately and they can be combined as well. There are three types of GPS + Radar Detector which are 1) Portable type, all in one function, we call it a combo device. It’s not only a speed camera locator but also a radar detector. The advantage is its mobility feature. 2) The remote devices, two separated units applying wireless technology to transmit data from TX module to RX module. TX module is a radar detector that installs near the bumper and it transmits data to RX module when it captures the speed gun’s microwave with the high frequencies. As TX module is installed outside the car, you do not need to worry about any interferences coming from inside the car that decrease its effectiveness to detect the microwave.
