This vase started on the wheel, I finished the vase by hand forming, the vase does not have a typical shape it is sort of round but not a full circle. The tallest point on the back of the vase is 8 inches tall the back sweeps up to a point. The width is 4 inches. Unusual flowers look awesome in this vase. The inside of the vase has a silver ring on the top this silver is accomplished from the reduction firing I do using a Iron Oxide based glaze. The rest of the vase is waves of blues browns and a little black combined with a brush to create this unique appearance. All my glazes are food safe, I never use lead based anything. All clays are either earthen or stone ware all items are fired with a gas kiln.
