The jaw crusher is mainly used as coarse and medium crushing machine in the mining, building materials, infrastructure and other sectors, and is categorized into large, medium and small type according to feed port width size, large type refers to feed port width above 600mm, medium type refers to the feed port width ranging from 300mm to 600mm, and small type refers to the feed port width below 300mm. Jaw crusher features simple structure, easy manufacture and reliable operation.

The working part of jaw crusher consists of two jaw plates, namely the stationary jaw vertically (or the upper end slightly inclined) fixed on the front wall of the body and the movable jaw at an inclined position, forming the crushing cavity (working cavity) of large top and small bottom. The movable jaw plate makes periodic reciprocating motion in opposite to the stationary jaw plate, sometimes separated and sometimes close. When separated, the material enters the crushing cavity, and the finished product is discharged from the lower part. When close, the material which is arranged between the two jaw plates is crushed under the action of squeezing, bending and splitting.

The jaw crusher can be categorized into simple swing type jaw crusher, complex swing type jaw crusher and composite swing type jaw crusher according to the swing mode of the movable jaw plate.
