Bladder instillation for the treatment of the symptoms of Painful Bladder Syndrome / Interstitial Cystitis, Recurrent Urinary Tract Infection, Radiation Induced Cystitis, Chemically Induced Cystitis and Overactive Bladder

Hyacyst® temporarily replenishes the Glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer in the bladder. The GAG layer lines the urothelium (the epithelium of the internal surface of the bladder). The GAG layer is thought to act as a protective barrier shielding the bladder wall from microorganisms, toxins and urine components. Deficiency or injury to the GAG layer resulting in increase permeability is the leading current explanation for the symptoms of Painful Bladder Syndrome.
