Industrial acenaphthene is a kind of white rhombic needle-like crystals or is slightly with some yellow color. 
Melting Point: *5℃ ; Boiling Point: **7.5℃ ; Relative Density; 1.**4(*9℃) ; Index of  Refraction: 1.***8(*0℃)  
It is slightly soluble in water , and it can dissolve in hot ether,hot benzene, toluene, glacial acetic acid, petroleum ether, and chloroform. It is slightly soluble in ethanol , and it is flammable.
Application: 
Industrial acenaphthene can be made into nitroacenaphthene after nitration, and 1.8 naphthalene dimethyl anhydride and acenaphthequinone through oxidization, and it can be used to synthesize dye and make polyester resin and polyester fiber. With dehydrogenation of acenaphthene, we can get acenaphthylene, which can be made into acenaphthylene resin and also fluorescent dye.
Storage and Transportation:
Industrial acenaphthene belong to flammable goods, so it should be stored at cool, well-ventilated place , where the temperature shouldn't be more than *0℃. When transported, it should be packed in plastic woven bags or gunny-bags.
