A chipao is a traditiional-style, one-piece Chinese dress. It's tight-fitting and full-length. It has a standup collar and very distinctive Chinese toggles instead of regular s. Chipaos are very festive costumes. They make ladies look more graceful and are really suitable for occasions like the Spring Festive and family reunions. The patterns are chipaos are complicated and breathtaking indeed. They used to be the ethnic costumes of the Manchu women in Qing Dynasty when ladies were required to bind their feet. But now they represent the traditional Chinese clothing in general. They are unique to China and are valued as our national treasures.
