| Sample handling | Liquid milk Weigh exactly 1g (ml) liquid milk sample into a clean, dry plastic or glass container and add 4g(ml) of purified water into the container. Shake vigorously for one minutes (manually or with shaker). Take measures to avoid sample contamination. Infant formula Weigh exactly 1g infant formula sample into a suitable container and add *0g(ml) of purified water into the container. Shake vigorously for 5min~*0min (manually or with shaker). Take measures to avoid sample contamination. Non-infant formula Weigh exactly 1g non-infant formula sample into a suitable container and add *0g(ml) of purified water into the container. Shake vigorously for 5min~*0min (manually or with shaker). Take measures to avoid sample contamination. Feed *0 % methanol solution: prepare *0 % methanol solution by mixing *0 ml methanol (**0 %) with *0 ml purified water. It is used to extract melamine from samples.. Weigh exactly 1g feed sample into a suitable container and add 5g(ml) of *0 % methanol solution into the container. Shake vigorously for 5min~*0min (manually or with shaker). Put it aside for 5min. Take 1ml supernatant into another clean container and dilute the supernatant with 2ml of purified water. Measures should be taken to avoid sample corruption or pollution. |
| Notes | 1. Melamine rapid Test kit can only be used to do Melamine screening. When positive result appears, please seal the sample in accordance with statutory procedures and verify the result by diagnostic method. 2. Melamine rapid Test card should be used before expiry date and cannot be used more than once. 3. Be certain the Melamine rapid Test cards and samples have equilibrated to room temperature before conducting testing. 4. In the detection, avoid direct sunlight and an electric fan blowing straight. 5. Avoid touching the white membrane surface in the middle of the test card. 6. Avoid cross-contamination of samples by using a new container and dropper for each sample. 7. If the samplepH is higher than 8 or lower than 6, it should be adjusted to neutral before test. 8. Vertically dropping 3 to 4 drops (approx. *0μl) of sample in the sample hole. If the sample crawls slowly, you should add 1 to 2 drops of sample more. 9.
