ABOUT MORPHINE

Morphine is indicated for the management of pain severe enough to require daily, around-the-clock, long-term opioid treatment and for which alternative treatment options are inadequate. Morphine is not for treating short-term pain just after surgery unless you were already taking morphine before the surgery.
HOW TO USE MORPHINE?

Morphine should be taken *5 to *0 mg every 4 hours as needed for pain. Adjust the dose to an acceptable level of analgesia taking into account the improvement in pain intensity and the tolerability of the morphine.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE-EFFECTS OF MORPHINE?

The major hazards associated with Morphine include the following:

•    Respiratory arrest
•    Circulatory depression
•    Sweating
•    Dysphoria
•    Anorexia
•    Ureteral spasm
•    Pruritus
•    Sedation
•    Nausea
