INTRODUCTION

Coconut Sugar is produced by evaporating the coconut sap obtained from the flowers of the coconut tree. In Indonesia, it is produced at cottage level and has been widely used in various traditional food and beverages as it provides a specific taste and flavor to the delicacies. It is one of the major ingredients of Indonesian sweet soya sauce (kecap manis) and other local food and cakes.

 

ADVANTAGES

Coconut Sugar is a natural 1:1 substitute of cane sugar which delivers far greater health benefits than what cane sugar can provide.

It is rich in nutrients (Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, C, etc), minerals (Potassium, Magnesium, Zinc, Iron, etc) and acts as an alternative form of sweetener which provides a slower releasing energy (naturally lower on the Glycemic Index) compared to sweeteners like honey and cane sugar. This makes coconut sugar a healthier alternative as they do not cause blood sugar levels to increase rapidly and drop rapidly after consumption - suitable for diabetic conditions. It also contains numerous amino acids, needed for growth, repair and maintenance of body tissues, enzymes, and hormones.

Additionally, Coconut Sugar has a lower melting temperature with an extremely high burn temperature making it perfect for confectionary uses. It has no added chemicals or additives and dissolves in liquids and wet dough without residue because it is derived from nectar, as opposed to a crystal particulate like cane sugar.

 

INTENDED USE

It can be used as a natural sweetener for most applications similar to the usage of cane sugar.

STORAGE

Preferably stored in a cool, dry and odour free area with ambient temperature ****0 degree celcius and below *0% relative humidity.
