PLA is a biodegradable, biocompatible, thermoplastic, aliphatic polyester, the monomer of which is lactic acid. This type of plastic is environmentally friendly, safe, does not cause allergies, is made from raw materials that are replenished annually, does not deplete the planet's resources, is harmless to humans and animals, completely decomposes in atmospheric conditions for **2 years for biofertilizer and water.

Advantages of PLA

This type of plastic does not affect the human body in any way, it is used everywhere, in all types of industry (it is completely biodegradable, disposed of with food waste):



• medicine printing of implants with dosed injection of the drug into the body;



• Production of disposable tableware and films;



• Production of toys, etc.



The disadvantages are:



• cost of production;



• deception on the part of the manufacturer, who does not have appropriate evidence of the quality of raw materials and materials;



• there are few laboratories that can officially conclude that the item is made on the basis of PLA and complies with GOST EN ****2 (for disposable packaging and tableware);



• it cannot be recycled, only disposed of, industrial composting is poorly developed.
