Properties:
It is white powder or gelatinous crystal, nonhygroscopic and bitter. It is a hexagonal rhombus crystal
when crystallizing from aqueous solution, with relative density of 2.*0 and melting point of **9.5. It is
slightly soluble in water and hot ethanol. It starts decomposing at melting point, produces boron trifluoride
by strong acid such as sulfuric acid and reacts with alkaline metal and carbonates to produce fluoride and
borate. It is toxic!

Usages
It is used as flux for soldering and brazing, as raw materials of aluminum and magnesium sand
casting to produce boroncontaining alloy, as filler in grinding wheel of thermoset resin, to clean light metal dreg
while welding and fusing silver, gold and stainless steel. It is also used as the material to produce boron
trifluoride and other fluoride, as reagent in electrochemistry.
