Propylene Glycol Alginateis a natural polysaccharide extracted from brown seaweed and other seaweed. It is white or yellow-white fine powder. It is odorless or a little smells like aromatic hydrocarbon. Propylene Glycol Alginate can not be dissolved in ethanol but when dissolved in water, it form into gel solution.

Propylene Glycol Alginate is widely used in food industry because of following special properties:

1.      Hydrophilic Ability

Propylene Glycol Alginate can be dissolved in water and form thickness solution easily and widely used in food industry as thickener, emulsifier andstabilizer.

2.      Acid Resistance

Propylene Glycol Alginate can exist in acid( PH value: 3 to 5) stably and used infruit juice and lactic acid drinks.

3.      Emulsifying and foamingability

Propylene Glycol Alginate is good at Emulsifying and foaming and widely used in yogurt, flavouring and beer( as foam stabilizer).
