      Pumice is a type of extrusive igneous rock, formed from high silica lava explosively erupted from volcanoes. It also refers to a volcanic glass full of cavities and very low in density that is used especially in powder form for smoothing and polishing. Pumice can be formed when lava and water are mixed.
       Pumice is an abrasive material with qualities that allow it to be used commercially in areas such as construction, landscaping and soil conditioning. This compound can also be used as an ingredient in polish, an abrasive hand soap ingredient, a dental abrasive and a cosmetic skin abrasive.
