Rice is one of the most consumed grains in the world. Brazil is the ninth largest producer and reaped *2.3 million metric tons in the ***4 crop. The production is distributed in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Mato Grosso. The cultivation of rice in southern Brazil, contributes on average, with *4% of the national production.
