Silicon Manganese Alloy
Silicon manganese alloy is the deoxidizer as steel production and the intermediate material of alloying constituent mainly.
Silicon manganese is widely used with a large production. Silicon in Silicon-manganese has strong affinity with manganese and oxygen. It is widely used in steelmaking industry and has become the essential deoxidizing agent and additive in steelmaking industry. Silicon manganese which content has a low carbon content by 1.9% is the semi-finished product used in low carbon ferromanganese and electro silicothermic metal.
In the ferroalloy industry, we usually call silicomaganese the silicomaganese article which is used in steelmaking, and as self-employed silicomaganese in low-carbon iron making, and as high-silicon silicomaganese in metal melting. Manganese which can be mixed with silicon, can made in three silicides: MnSiO3, MnSiO and MnSiO3. MnSi is the most stable one of silicide which can be seen from the silicomaganese condition diagram.
