Definition:
Talc occurs as a white to gray-white, unctuous powder.
Powdered, natural, hydrated magnesium silicate containing varying proportions of such associated materials as alpha-quartz, calcite, chlorite, dolomite, magnesite and phlogopite.

Function:
Anticaking agent; coating agent; lubricating and release agent; surface-finishing agent; texturizing agent. Used in paper, rubber, plastic, food additive, etc.

Acid-Soluble Substances (as SO4) Not more than 2.5%.
Arsenic Not more than 3 mg/kg.
Free Alkali (as NaOH) Not more than 1%.
Lead Not more than 5 mg/kg.

Loss on Ignition Not more than 6.0%.
Soluble Salts Not more than 0.2%.
