The Sultan of Gems
Coveted throughout the centuries by
kings and sultans of the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires, the
Anatolian mountains hold a secret gemmologists believe has been
kept for over millions of years. A precious gemstone so
exceptional, it has been identified as a previously unknown variety
of diaspore. Only found in one place in the world, Csarite is
meticulously excavated at a height of more than 3,**0 feet in the
remote foothills of the Anatolian mountains in Turkey.
Challenging to Attain
Csarite is mined at a location so
remote, its whereabouts have only recently been discovered in our
lifetime. Its seclusion and inaccessibility have tested modern
equipment and engineering technology to supply running water and
electricity to the area, and into the depths of these great
mountains. As the worlds only Csarite deposit, its exclusivity is
without question.
The Rarest of Gemstones
The
more rare the gemstone, the greater its value. Csarite places this
concept of rarity into an entirely new point of reference. While it
is said that Tanzanite is 1,**0 times more rare than a diamond,
Csarite exceeds the rarity of Tanzanite by ten times more. Further
still, just *0 per cent of the rough crystals mined are suitable
for faceting, and *8 per cent of these are lost during
cutting.
A
precious gemstone *0,**0 times more rare than a
diamond.
Nothing Enhanced, Nothing
Treated
Today most gemstones have been
heated, radiated, diffused, filled, dyed, bleached, oiled or any
possible combination of these.
While most gemstones make use of
treatments used to falsely enhance their colour and appearance,
Csarites qualities together with its colour palette are both pure
and natural. From the earth, unpolluted
Ethically Mined, Locally
Supported
Csarite has a direct and positive
affect on the lives of its miners. All of our employees are housed
and fed on site and paid over and above the average earnings for
miners in the region. Fully insured, every one of our employees
works in safe working conditions which are subject to regular
government and environmental inspection. We also donate food
supplies every six months to more than **0 homes in the villages
surrounding the mine, their local communities and their
schools.
Environmental Respect
Csarite also has a positive impact
on its natural surroundings, as our entire underground operations
were designed from the outset to allow minimal impact to the
surface of our mountains. With fewer trees felled and no major
excavations necessary, even the water waste we produce is collected
and removed by vehicles to ensure zero soil contamination. And for
the few trees which do require felling, we ensure that they are
professionally handled and brought to the ground by the Forestry
department, whom we voluntarily fund to plant more than *0 trees
for every one cut down.
A Unique Characteristic
Incomparable and unique, Csarite
has become a leader in the fine jewellery industry since its
discovery due to its sparklingly bright yet tranquil colours. It
can change from kiwi greens in sunlight, to raspberry
purplish-pinks in candlelight. But unlike other colour-change gems,
Csarites colour change is not limited to two primary colours.
Incredibly, the same Csarite can exhibit khaki greens, cognac
pinks, canary yellows, pinkish champagnes, sage greens, raspberry
purplish-pinks and vibrant gingers under a variety of different
light sources.
A Fashion Highlight
While simply wearing Csarite
unveils its breathtakingly diverse colours, one of its most unique
features is that, unlike other colour-change gemstones, Csarite s
superlative colour change ability is not dependant on dark tones
within the stone. This characteristic has caught the imagination of
women the world over, who prefer Csarite for its more subtle pastel
colours to complement the rich, earthy tones of green, chocolate,
mocha and gold which makes the precious stone wearable in any
fashion, and instills a timeless, classic appeal.
A Rare Find
Remarkably, Csarite possesses another phenomena
seldom found among gemstones: the cat's eye effect. Known by its
technical term, chatoyancy appears as a brilliant band of light
reflected across the surface of the gemstone. The presence of these
rare abilities, that of colour-change and chatoyancy combined, have
even led some in the fine jewellery industry class Csarite as a
'double phenomena' gemstone. A truly rare find, left undiscovered
for more than **0 million years.
