الوصف

The Sailing Vessel OLGA On April 7, 1906 Braker Heringsfischerei AG registered the sailing ship OLGA in its fleet and provided her with the register number “OB 37”. The following captains commanded the ship: F.Wesemann from Mundehagen (1909), F.R.Dralle from Hespe (1912), H.Koch from Niederwöhren (1913 – 1916) and Müller (1919 – 1923). With the new masts installed in May 1912, the ship was rebuilt as a sailing motor vessel in 1913 in Strenge am Brake, just like her sister-ship PAULA. The ship was equipped with the improved oil-driven single-cylinder engine 56 AG made by the Company Brake. On June 30, 1926 when fishing with trawls (trial nets) ended, OLGA was sold to the shipping brokers of the transporting company Berhard Reinecke in Hamburg, and with this ship their fleet of sailing motor vessels amounted to 12. The ship was reconstructed into a cargo transporting vessel in Beidenfleth’e Hugo Peters shipyard and besides, instead of Logger she became a nice sailing vessel with 208 sq. m of sails. Under the command of Captain Georg Brummer from Sehnee am Stade, the ship sailed in the Baltic and the North Sea. In the year of 1926 Captain Hrummer was inserted in Hamburg Register as the owner of the ship, but in June 1927 he sold the sailing ship to Captain Johann Meeder from Suderstapel an der Eider. Moreover, in two years the registration port of the ship was changed. In 1934 J.Meeder changed the old Kromhout-Glühkopf engine into a new three-cylinder 75AG engine made by Deutsche-Werke-Diesel. In June 1937 the ship nearly sank. OLGA was sailing from Brüke to Rügenwaldermünde fully loaded with corn, and on June 3 she ran aground near Westermarkelsdorf due to the navigation mistake. The ship could not make herself free on her own. Fortunately, the weather was fine with no waves whatsoever, so after a long time the tugboat from Travemünde successfully tugged the undamaged ship to the shore. The History goes on.More info by E mail:transportstructureas_yahoo.dk
