This jet has high energy and can be used to cut soft material. If sufficient grinding material is added to the jet, it can cut soft and hard materials. After its jet pressure and flow is adjusted, it can clean various articles, such as degumming, removal of lacquer and rust, etc. UHP technology can also be used for high pressure sterilization, food fresh-keeping, etc. Characteristics of UHP Water Cutting Machine It can carry out once cutting with any material at any curve (other cutting methods are all subject to the restriction of material type); it won't produce heat and hazardous material during cutting, and the material has no thermal effect (cold state cutting). After the cutting, the material is easy for secondary processing. It is safe, environmental friendly, low in cost, high in efficiency, and can realize any curve's cutting, convenient operation and extensive applications. Water cutting is the most applicable cutting process now. Comparison between Water Cutting Machine and Laser Cutting Laser cutting equipment requires large investment and most of them are used to cut sheet steel, some non-metal materials, featuring high cutting speed and high precision, but laser cutting will produce arc trace in the cutting joint and hereby cause heating effect; in addition, it is not ideal for some materials, such as some non-ferrous metals aluminum, copper, alloy, etc. especially it doesn't perform well in cutting thick metal sheets with bad cutting surface or failure to cut. The current research on high-power laser generator is aimed at solving the cutting problem of heavy plates but the equipment investment, maintenance and operational consumption also cost a lot. Water cutting features low investment and running cost, big application scope, high efficiency and easy operation and maintenance. Comparison between Water Cutter machine and Plasma Cutting Plasma cutting has evident heating effect, low precision, and the cutting surface is hard for secondary operation. Water cutting is made in cold state without any thermal distortion, and the cut surface is fine and easy for secondary operation, or no secondary operation is needed. Comparison of Water Cutting machine and Linear Cutting Linear cutting has higher precision in metallic processing but the cutting speed is slow, sometimes, perforation and threading, etc. are needed before cutting and the cutting size is restricted. Water cutting can give punching, cutting with any materials, and has high cutting speed and a wide range of processing size. Comparison of Water Cutting and Other Cutting Methods Punching shear technique is applicable to some metal parts with high efficiency, high speed but special moulds and cutters are required. In comparison with this cutting method, water cutting has better flexibility and can process work pieces of any shape at any time. Especially when the material is thick and hard, punching shear process is difficult or can't achieve the cutting while water cutting performs well. Flame cutting is also a common process of cutting metals and has large range of cutting thickness, but it has stronger heating effect and poorer surface quality and precision than water cutting does; in addition, water cutting performs well in the cutting of high melting point materials, alloys and composites, etc. In such cutting sectors as glass, stone and ceramics, the traditional method diamond tool can give cutting, sawing and milling operations with large range of cutting thickness, high cutting speed. But to those plates with general thickness, water cutting can give any curvilineal cutting at high precision and have high rate of finished products; and it also reduces the production cost and increases the added value of cut products greatly.
