Agriculture Growth
Zeolite
is an excellent mineral to be used in soil conditioning. One can
amend and recondition their soil with zeolite. This is very
economical way of reconditioning the soil. Zeolite is used to
adsorb ammonium and buffers the soil. This prevents toxicity. As
a result, farmers can rely less on nitrogen fertilizers by
reducing its applications.
Zeolites
have proven to have faster growth rate and higher yield for
crops. By applying zeolite, farmers are able to use the existing
minerals in soil more efficiently. This means lower usage of
fertilizer and water. Thus, this in turn reduces the amounts of
fertilizers leaching into groundwater.
This
mineral is well-known in holding and slowly releasing valuable
nutrients to plants. Especially, if it applied with ammonium
nitrogen (NH4+), potassium (K+), magnesium (Mg2+) and trace
elements. This promotes better plant growth by improving the
value of fertilizers.
Zeolite
can also be applied to manure or compost to increase water
retention. This mineral can also deliver nitrogen and other
desirable plant nutrients to the growth area. As a result, it
provides captured nitrogen in the future and increase the
infiltration and aeration of the soil.
