This method heat pasteurizes beverages at very high temperatures and then fills them into a can or bottle thereby destroying all disease-producing organisms and bacteria that may be present. 

Many of AriZona’s competitors use a cold-fill process because it’s cheaper. Instead of heat pasteurizing, they use chemical preservatives in their products.
