HIBISCUS: Is a flowering plant that is native to tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world.The hibiscus flower is easily recognisable by its large and fire-petal blossoms.
The Hibiscus buds are usually red in color as against the blossom which are white. The bud are tropically dried and used to make teas and syrups or added as an ingredient to traditional indian,southeast Asian and West African dishes.
Hibiscus has a charactaristically tart,floral flavour and little scent.
The hibiscus flower have been proven to have several health benefits, some of which are treatment for high blood pessure,,Diabetese and high cholesterol.
Hibiscus plants are also classified as toxicity category 4;Meaning that the plant and its blossoms are considered nontoxic to humans.However,it is advisable to ensure that the plant is not exposed to insectcide or pesticide before consumption.
