1. Introduction Chlorine dioxide, a strong oxidant, has advantages in disinfecting and purifying tap water over chlorine gas and ozone. It functions not only in simple sterilization and bleaching, but also in destroying and removing organisms in water. Chlorine dioxide has good abilities to purify and sterilize for it can remains in water for a long time. It has been notarized by World Health Organiza tion (WHO) as safe and effective bactericide, deodorizer, antiseptic, conserving agent, water quality stabilizer and bleacher. At present it has been applied widely in water companies of many developed countries, and its application is extended vigorously to other water treatment activities. As its oxidizing ability is 2.6 times that of chlorine, only 0.2mg/L of chlorine dioxide water solution can inhibit bacteria reproduction. Therefore, it can be applied in fields of water treatment, papermaking, sterilizing and related areas. 2. Application areas The product is mainly used as disinfectant in waterworks, disinfectant and water quality stabilizer for swimming pools, bactericide for industrial circulating water system, bleaching agent for paper and textile industries, oxidizing agent for industrial wastewater treatment and disinfectant for food and milk products. 4. Guidelines for usages For tap water: 2ppm, directly add in water. For food industry: for poultry products, meat products and seafood, marinate the food products with *0ppm chlorine dioxide solution for 5~*0min, then freeze it with *0mg/L chlorine dioxide solution. The conservation period of the food could be prolonged for 7~*0days after such a treatment. For industrial circulating water treatment: 5~*5ppm (according to water quality). For swimming pool: 0.5ppm, directly add in water. For wastewater treatment: *5~*0ppm (according to components in wastewater) 5. Package and storage (1) Solid form product: 1.0kg/bag, 5.0kg/bag and *0kg/bag available. (2) Products should be kept in a dry and heat insulation storage house, avoiding high temperature.
