In Norway it has been a long time tradition to make sculptures out of ice. It was here that the ice lantern with a stylish star shape was invented! Now it is possible for everybody to make a unique ice lantern with a beautiful star shape at home! With a candle inside it is a special and attractive decoration for in- and outdoor use! The ice lantern star shape comes in two sizes; *5 cm / 6 inch or *0 cm / 8 inch. The small size fits basically in every freezer with drawer. The mould is filled with water and placed in the freezer. After *2 to *4 hours the water is solidly frozen and the mold can be taken out. It has to acclimatize at room temperature for half an hour. Than pour warm water in the center and after 5 minutes the ice will come out of the mold. The small size ice lantern will last about 3 hours at *0ºF/*0ºC. The large size ice lantern will last about 6 hours at *0ºF/*0ºC. For indoor use a bowl has to be placed under the ice lantern to collect the melting water. There are endless possibilities to decorate the ice cooler by freezing it with ornaments, fruits, food color dye, seafood etc. or just by putting a candle inside.
