L&T’s Surface Miner is result of our completely indigenous efforts of design development and manufacturing. Our first machine – KSM**4 (Cutting Drum Width – ***0 mm; Depth of Cut – **0mm (Max.); Powered by - ***0 HP Engine) was built with hand-in-hand interfacing with machine’s actual user, thereby enabling many user-friendly features like easier operation, operator’s comfort, machine stability and most importantly – the overall cost-effectiveness. Surface Miner (KSM) has excelled in all its parameters of performance. Our first machine was launched in Feb’***4 and has now successfully clocked > *0, **0 operating hours. The customer satisfaction is well expressed in form of repeat order for another 3 machines. Having established its strength in softer minerals and having strengthened the machine design further, the machine was taken to hard limestone strata at Ultratech Cement (Hirmi Cement Works). The rigorous testing at hard limestone strata has yielded excellent results and opened a new chapter in Indian mining industry for cost-effective and environ-friendly excavation of hard minerals. Soon after, we also launched our smaller model KSM **3 (2 M Drum Width & upto **0mm depth of cut) and KSM **3 (3 M Drum on 2.2 M machine for soft rock). Many such machines are already operating successfully in coal, limestone & sandstone applications. Within a short span, we have already executed export orders of surface miners in limestone applications in Togo, Qatar and Dubai. Today, with thrust on environment friendly mining, the global demand of the machine is on rise.
