HIFU(High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a modality of therapeutic ultrasound and is a non-invasive method to deposit acoustic energy into tissue. In HIFU therapy, ultrasound beams are focused on diseased tissue, and due to the significant energy deposition at the focus, temperature within the tissue rises to *5° to **0°C, destroying the diseased tissue by coagulation necrosis. Each sonication of the beams treats a precisely defined portion of the targeted tissue. HIFU****1 is a non-invasive carcinoma treatment system which embraces HIFU technology. The system is controlled by a powerful PC with dedicated software automatically transmitting the HIFU beams to precisely defined treatment area. The system can automatically calculate and design the size and the shape of the treatment area. The focus volume of the HIFU beam can be smaller than 3mm x 3mm x 6mm. The system can destroy bigger tumor by the method of point-to-point in line-to-line shape, and shape-to-shape in body and is a very quick way to kill the carcinoma tissue, and reach the desired treatment purpose.
