Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC)
General name: Cellulose Ether
Cellulose Ether is made from natural fiber after alkaline bath,
etherification, water scrubbing, dryness, grinding production
processes etc.
Feature:
HPMC has the ability of thickening, anti-salt, water retention,
good film-forming, anti-enzyme, dispersing, bonding,
and low ash content, With the reduction of methoxyl content,
gel point rises, solubility in water and surface activity
decrease.
Usage:
it is mainly used in cement mortar and joint in mechanical
construction; it is used as binding of ceramic tile, marble and
plastics. Because of its high strength,
the consumption of cement can be decreased. It can be used as
thickener in coating to make coating bright and exquisite and avoid
the coating flaking off and
improve leveling.Moreover, it works as dispersing agent in PVC
production, thickener, stabilizer, emulsifier, excipient, moisture
retentive agent, film former, and
so on in petroleum industry, coating, varnish remover, agricultural
chemicals, printing ink, textile, printing and dyeing, ceramics,
paper, cosmetics. HPMC can
make the product have so good shape and loosen and suitable
specific gravity and excellent machining properties that it takes
place of gel and polyvinyl
alcohol as dispersing agent.
