Foundry (Casting) Pig Iron differs from conventional Pig Iron by application purpose. Whereas Pig Iron is virtually semi-finished Steel, the mentioned Foundry Pig Iron is only furnace charge material often comprising of different casting irons for the purpose of attaining highly fluid, fillable and soft Fe-Si alloy perfect for casting into complicated moulds. Fewer factories produce Foundry (Casting) Pig Iron compared to conventional Basic Pig Iron, especially when extra low Sulphur is required.
